In May, Executive Director, Estahappy Mariki, launched a fundraising event at our construction site to raise awareness adn funds to build a library, igniting a spirit of belonging on our community.

Guest speaker Anande Nnko of GLAMI, who shared, "The Girls Foundation of Tanzania is the best investment that any community will ever make in education for its youth."

The enthusiastic crowd of 300+ young people, parents, peer educators, local leaders, and neighbors, learned about our future initiatives and shared what they wanted in their library. We are so thankful they raised $6,000+.

Jump on board and match their efforts to build a library to benefit everyone in our community.
One brick = $100 = a hundred smiles!

None of the students owned a book of their own before joining our Sponsorship Program: even their schools don't have libraries. Our community library will be a critical resource for our community to gain hands-on access to books, computers, the internet, and life-skills trainings.
Over the last 5 years, our Community Outreach Program worked with over 50,000+ people in trainings, workshops, and one-on-one support.
So far this year, we've impacted 12,000 people.
A year ago, we started construction of the Girls Leadership Centre campus, partnering with Aimee Bessire, Founder of Africa Schoolhouse and Pam Hawkes and Scott Teas, architects of Scattergood Designs. Together these passionate professionals have provided job training to local community members to build quality schools for over a decade.

Pam Hawkes, architect; Benjamin John, engineer; Scott Teas, architect.

They care deeply about the environmental, structural, and social sustainability of all their projects. They are our unsung heroes - at the site they've hired 186 skilled and unskilled local workers to build a state-of-the-art Girls Leadership Center.
We are grateful for the leadership and generosity of friends, organizations, and foundations who've stepped up to contric=bute to our ambitious capital campaign.
Thank you!
