In this season of gratitude, we want to thank you for your generosity. We have so much to be grateful for. With your past support our students are thriving in secondary and high school, university, and in their careers. In 2023 our students impacted 12,190 young people in our Community Outreach Program.

The promise of a TGFT education begins when we choose 7th grade graduates to join our Sponsorship Program. When new girls first arrive at The Girls Center, they’re surrounded by girls like themselves from underserved communities. They see their future in each other and together.
Female peers matter. Younger students look up to our university students and alumnae and think, “I can be like her.” Academic performance is not enough; girls need to be mentored to develop their social-emotional intelligence and trained in leadership.

Our students are not only dreaming but achieving! We worried about Lulu who had a persistent stutter; however, Lulu has spunk, and she was determined not to be relegated to the sidelines. During her Gap Year, she developed a strong, gutsy voice while training her peers on sexual and reproductive health. Within a month of starting at her new high school, she was elected as Vice President of the student government. A leader among 87% of TGFT student leaders in schools.

During her Gay Year, Lulu + TGFT's 11 Peer Advocates trained 6,362 peers on sexual education at 13 local schools.

Lydia was President of her class and the speaker at her high school graduation.
Dorcas is working as a Medical Officer at FAME, a state-of-the-art hospital and outpatient clinic. She is sending money home to pay for her brother’s school fees. When students send money home, relatives and neighbors are starting to notice. They start to understand the importance of an education.

Dorcas was one of our first students we sponsored in 2013. Ten years later, with her university education and career, her entire life story has changed.
When education opens doors, it has the power to transform families and communities in a single generation.
We promise every student will graduate from university feeling empowered to lead with unshakable confidence, a strong voice, and a deep awareness of their value in the world.
